– 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁? 🧤

“The Litter Lifters of West Vincent started as a grassroots effort 🌱 in April of 2020 to clean up our township in Pennsylvania, USA. We started with 5 people who were planning an Earth Day 2020 ♻️🌎 event but that was cancelled due to the pandemic, so the group morphed into a litter task force🤝

I built our new committee by utilizing social media📲 to get like-minded people involved. Our police department reached out to us in the summer of 2020 to give us their support 💪 and our 1st event – with just 12 people – was held in September of 2020. I believe it was a relief to many people to get outside, do something good for our community, and forget about the pandemic swirling around us- if only for a few hours. 💪🌤️

Since that time, we have over 200 volunteers, have planned over 40 events, and have removed many tons of litter🚮. We are getting high school students involved and they are having fun while picking up litter with us! Area townships are starting their own litter task forces, and our County government started a program called Keep Chester County Beautiful because of my relentless communication with our County Commissioners. This took me an entire year gathering letters of support but it was worth it! ♻️🌟”

“The CSFN app is an easy way to keep track of events’ data, upload photos and raise awareness❤️. CSFN allows groups and environmentally conscious individuals to be a part of something bigger🌍 inspire and be inspired by like-minded people👥 on a global scale. Litter is EVERYONE’S problem – we all live on the same planet – we share the consequences of our actions!”
