Pick N’ Plant: 1 Kg Trash + 1 Tree for 3€

Pick N’ Plant is CSFN’s flagship corporate sponsorship offer. Companies fund cleanups and tree planting at a fixed rate: €3 per kilogram of trash collected plus one tree planted. There is no fixed ladder. A company can sponsor 100 units or 10000. This post covers how the formula works, what your company receives in return and why the model is built to be ESG-credible.

What Pick N’ Plant is

Pick N’ Plant separates the sponsorship from any event. You pay. CSFN coordinates real cleanups across its global community of pickers. The certified planting partner, OneSeed, plants one tree for every kilogram credited to your sponsorship. Every kilogram is logged in the CSFN app with photo evidence, GPS coordinates and weight. Every tree is planted, monitored from seedling to maturity and reported on.

The model has been featured as a resource on the European Climate Pact’s EU Climate Action Academy.

The formula and how it scales

The base unit is simple: €3 = 1 kg of trash collected + 1 tree planted. The two halves are always paired. There is no minimum or maximum on the package size. As anchor points, three commonly chosen starting volumes:

Earth Champion volume and above receive a branded impact page. For any other volume the price is simply units × €3, quoted on request.

How it works in four steps

1. Choose a sponsorship volume. An example package above, or any custom amount.
2. CSFN coordinates the cleanups. Volunteer cleanups across the CSFN community contribute kilograms toward your total. Each one is logged in the app with weight, location, time and photo stamp evidence.

4. You receive an interactive impact report. A living HTML dashboard for your sponsorship.

What the impact report contains

The report has two halves: the forest and the cleanprint.

Sponsored forest: total trees funded, hectares reforested, an interactive map, the species planted, CO2 captured and projected, hours of labour, planting location, date and photos, endangered animals protected and functional benefits of the forest.

Litter cleanprint: kilograms cleaned, litres cleaned, cleanup photos from the app, GPS coordinates, number of volunteers, estimated CO2 avoided, cleanup city, country and date, plus volunteer comments.

Why Pick N’ Plant is ESG-credible

The CSR market has a credibility problem. Pick N’ Plant was structured to avoid the most common traps:

• Physical outcomes only. Real kilograms, weighed and photographed. Real trees in the ground. No abstract offsets.
• Tracked at source. Cleanups are logged in real time in the CSFN app by the people doing them.
• Independent recognition. The model has been recognised by the World Summit Awards and featured by UNESCO as a citizen-led environmental model.

Tax status and SDG alignment
