π From Belgium π§πͺ (To the worldπ)
βοΈ 1800 Tones in total π±
This post goes toΒ @rivercleanup. They started back in 2017 in Belgium, dedicating just 10 minutes to pick up trash β»οΈ. They soon realized that when you pick up someone elseβs trash, something changesπ‘β¦ you change! You start to see it and realize itβs literally everywhere π. This was the trigger for Thomas and the team to create what we know now today asΒ @rivercleanupΒ π. In 2018 they managed to onboard 10K volunteers π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ cleaning the river Rhine. Rapidly next year 10 big rivers from Europe and Asia were covered by River Cleanup!
Not only they clean with volunteers but also combining technology π© during their missions; devices such as the River Skimmer, the Trashboombs or the River Whale βοΈ are some of their technological developments used to speed up rivers cleaning process π.
It’s so inspiring to see how an organization with a beautiful purpose has taken the right steps to make the biggest possible impact ππ, keeping the focus of cleaning up and their principles intact π₯°. Up until today, they have registered a total of 150642 volunteers π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ adding a crazy figure of 1,8 Tousand Tonnes βοΈ of trash that wonβt be in Nature anymore.
Thank you,Β @rivercleanup, for many more impactful years to come π€π€. Keep on spreading love & change across the globe, we are all in this together ππ Let’sΒ #cleansomethingfornothingΒ #CSFNΒ #rivercleanup
